UAE Retail Heavy Apparel Group Headquarters and Warehouses Achieve LEED Platinum

Apparel Group headquarters and warehouses achieve a Platinum rating on the LEED charts.

Dubai: The head office and warehouses of the Apparel group, specializing in retail sales, have received Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation from the US Green Building Council for operation and maintenance. The 16,552.63 square meter mixed-use complex was built in 2017, with around 67% of the building materials containing recycled products. In addition, 100 percent of total wood-based building materials are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified.

LEED certification assesses Apparel Group‘s overall building design, structure and operations by assessing how these factors promote efficiency, improve performance, and optimize sustainability practices. LEED certification also considers practical strategies and measurable solutions in areas such as site development, water conservation, energy efficiency, material selection and indoor environmental quality.

Automated lighting control, air conditioning energy savers and a building design that allows daylighting helped save energy, while sensor faucets and aerators as well as dual systems. flushing have reduced water consumption. The irrigation systems installed use collected rainwater and recycled wastewater, resulting in fully water-efficient landscaping.

Solar panels were installed as a source of energy at the head office and warehouses of Apparel Group in 2019, where 67% of total energy costs were offset by renewable energy generated on site.
