Maine Sport Outfitters will open a new store in Rockland on May 7

Maine Sport Outfitters said April 26 that its new location at the corner of Main and Park streets in Rockland will open on Saturday, May 7. The new store will be Maine Sport’s third store in the region, with existing locations in Camden and Rockport.

The grand opening celebration will begin at 9 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a live radio show, lots of giveaways including an Old Town kayak and free hot dogs from noon to 2 p.m.

Maine Sport plans to donate 10% of that day’s gross proceeds to the IAO Pantry. The first 100 people to bring a non-perishable food donation to the store will receive a free gift.

“This location will be a blend of our other two stores, offering our most popular products from our most popular brands,” said CEO and General Manager Troy Curtis. “We view this new store as an opportunity to better serve people living in and visiting the greater Rockland area with the outdoor gear and gear they need to get out and enjoy our beautiful state.”

The new MSO store will offer seasonal visitors and year-round residents the opportunity to purchase outdoor apparel, footwear and gear from Patagonia, North Face, Keen, Old Town and Trek. Equipment for camping, biking and boating enthusiasts will be available for purchase and bicycles will be available for rental.
